How to Compare Dental Clinics in Dubai

A practical checklist to compare clinics beyond price.

By Dr Paul Aesthetic · Published

With many dental clinics across Dubai, comparing them can feel overwhelming. Price is often the first thing people compare, but it is rarely the most useful measure on its own. This practical checklist helps you compare clinics on what matters for your care.

The short answer

Compare clinics on licensing, the experience of the treating dentist, the clarity of explanations and estimates, hygiene standards, diagnostic tools, location and access, and follow-up care — not price alone.

The checklist

Licensing

  • Is the facility licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)?
  • Is the dentist who will treat you DHA-licensed?

The treating dentist

  • What training and experience do they have in your treatment?
  • Will they treat you personally?
  • Do they communicate in a language you are comfortable with?

Explanations and transparency

  • Do they explain findings and options clearly?
  • Do they discuss less invasive alternatives?
  • Do they explain risks and limitations?
  • Do you receive a written, itemised estimate?

Hygiene and safety

  • Are sterilisation procedures explained when you ask?
  • Is the clinic clean and well organised?

Diagnostic tools

  • Are X-rays and 3D imaging available or arranged when needed, particularly for implants?
  • Are digital scans used for crowns, veneers or aligners?

Follow-up and aftercare

  • What follow-up visits are included?
  • How are problems after treatment handled?
  • Is there a process for urgent issues?

Practicalities

  • Location, parking and metro access
  • Opening hours
  • Appointment availability
  • Insurance acceptance

Comparing estimates fairly

When comparing quotes, make sure they include the same things — consultation, imaging, temporaries, laboratory work and follow-up. A lower headline price may exclude important elements.

Warning signs

  • Pressure to commit immediately
  • Guaranteed or "perfect" results
  • Extensive treatment recommended without discussing alternatives
  • Reluctance to answer questions
  • Prices that seem too good to be true

Getting a second opinion

For significant treatment, a second opinion is reasonable and common. A good clinician will not be offended.

Conclusion

The best clinic for you is one where you feel informed, respected and confident in the care you receive. See also How to Choose a Dentist in Dubai, or learn about our Dubai clinics.
